Gor Mahia reminds its Patron, Raila Odinga, on its Mashemeji Derby with AFC Leopards on the Day scheduled for consultative meetings at Jacaranda

Gor Mahia, the most successful club in Kenya is set to play against its greatest rival AFC Leopards on 29th January 2023.This date has however coincided with the consultative meeting spearheaded by Raila Odinga, who is the Patron to the club.

This has led to the management of Gor Mahia to write down a letter to the Patron asking him to consider rescheduling the date of the meeting or to find an appropriate time to hold the demo without failing to attend the Mashemeji Derby and the consultative meeting.

Gor Mahia football club also dubbed as Sirkal will be seeking for a win against their bitter rivals, AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium. Gor Mahia stands at position 3 in the league while AFC Leopards rank 7th.Gor Mahia has won its last 2 games hence will be more confident in the match. Gor Mahia last match they won against Talanta FC, a match that ended at 3-0 win by Gor Mahia.

On the other hand, AFC Leopards has not been posting encouraging results in its last matches. However, their last match against KBC acted as a motivator and their coach, Patrick Ausems, believe the win will boost their confidence to win against Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji Derby

Raila Odinga has not made any statement on the request but his plan on the demo may not be neglected. During the Kamukunji consultative meeting Raila Odinga spearheaded the arrangement of another larger meeting on 29th January 2023

 “Jumapili ni jumapili, nataka kuona uwanja imejaa, na kisha nitawatangazia mpango mwingine,” Mr. Odinga said.
