CHAN 2024 Prize Money: How much Harambee Stars will earn for reaching quarterfinal stage
Harambee Stars’ prize money for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) has now been confirmed after the team secured a historic place in the quarterfinals.
Under coach Benni McCarthy, Kenya advanced from Group A after two wins and a draw in their matches, marking their first-ever appearance in the continental tournament designed exclusively for home-based players.
CHAN 2024 Prize Money Breakdown
CAF earlier announced a 75% increase in prize money for this year’s competition, bringing the total pool to USD 10.4 million (about Ksh 1.3 billion).
By reaching the last eight, Harambee Stars are guaranteed Ksh 58,140,000, with the amount set to rise if they progress further to the semifinals or finals.

- Winner – $3,500,000 (Ksh 452,200,000)
- Runner-up – $1,200,000 (Ksh 155,040,000)
- 3rd place – $700,000 (Ksh 90,440,000)
- 4th place – $600,000 (Ksh 77,520,000)
- Quarterfinalists – $450,000 (Ksh 58,140,000)
- Group stage (3rd place) – $300,000 (Ksh 38,769,427)
- Group stage (4th or 5th place) – $200,000 (Ksh 25,846,285)
Kenya to Face Madagascar in Quarterfinals
With the group stage concluded, Kenya has officially booked a quarterfinal clash against Madagascar. This will be another stern test for McCarthy’s side as they aim to push further into the competition and increase their earnings from the tournament.
