Ex-DRC President Joseph Kabila Spotted in Nairobi, Meets Tshisekedi’s Opponents

Former Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Joseph Kabila is reportedly gathering opposition leaders in Nairobi, just weeks after being sentenced to death in absentia on treason charges.
A video circulating online shows Kabila arriving at a Nairobi hotel where he allegedly met politicians opposing President Félix Tshisekedi.

The closed-door meeting in Karen included key allies such as former PM Matata Ponyo Mapon and FCC officials like Raymond Tshibanda and Néhémie Mwilanya.

Kabila, who ruled from 2001 to 2019, has accused Tshisekedi of using courts to settle political scores. His visit could strain ties between Nairobi and Kinshasa as he seeks to reposition himself politically after years in exile.
