Suspect in GSU Officer’s Killing to Remain in Custody for 14 Days Amid Probe

A 55-year-old man accused of killing a GSU officer near State House, Nairobi, will be detained for two weeks as investigations proceed.
The suspect, Kimunye Musyimi from Makueni, allegedly travelled to Nairobi on Sunday night before attacking the officer the next morning with a bow and arrow near Gate D on Dennis Pritt Road.

Constable Ramadhan Mattanka was hit in the ribs and later died at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Police praised officers at the scene for preventing further harm, while condemning the “heinous act.” Musyimi appeared in court limping and requested medical attention.
